Healthcare Facilities Symposium honors new floor covering.

The Healthcare Facilities Symposium & Expo each year recognizes design teams, projects and individuals who have made a profound contribution to the healthcare design industry. It also recognizes the best and most innovative new products within the healthcare design and construction industry. To be eligible for the award, products had to be introduced between September 1, 2016, and September 1, 2017.

This year, the organization selected noraplan® lona as the Most Sustainable Product introduced.

noraplan® lona Beds

A five-member panel of design professionals selected this premium rubber flooring solution, and the show’s event guide featured it. Tom Hume, national market segment manager for nora systems, Inc., accepted the Symposium Distinction Award at a special luncheon during the show.

noraplan lona contains no PVC, plasticizers (phthalates) or halogens (chlorine), and no coatings or finishes are required to maintain its rich luster.

“Our ongoing commitment to sustainability makes me especially proud to receive this award,” Tim Cole, vice president of marketing at nora systems, Inc., said. “In addition to its innovative design, noraplan® lona contributes to sustainability with functional features that include durability, longevity, simple maintenance and favorable lifecycle costs.”

Good for heavy traffic, noraplan lona absorbs sound well and has great slip resistance. It installs seamlessly and is highly fire-retardant.

noraplan® lona Floor

Aesthetically, noraplan lona is a resilient rubber floor with a filigree design. Its contrasting colors and accents harness the power of creativity. New technology creates an unlimited range of patterns and designs, capturing the momentum of artistic expression. The patterns feature splashes and droplets in a range of colors on a silk-matte finish. The flooring thus conveys an aura of bold experimentation and innovation.

nora takes a great deal of pride in its record of sustainability and development of environmentally sensitivity products. For more on the award presentation, read the press release.
