Feel-good flooring delivers acoustic and ergonomic benefits to slew of statewide healthcare facilities.
Tasked with delivering quality healthcare to more than two million people across Pennsylvania, Geisinger Health Systems needed a resilient, noise-absorbing floor covering that presented a consistent look across their numerous state facilities.
Headquartered in Danville, PA, the medical system includes more than 60 facilities that encompass over three million square feet of flooring. Geisinger Medical Center, also located in Danville, welcomes approximately 4,000 outpatients that walk through the lobby each day.
The first Geisinger facility turned to nora® flooring for their first installation in Wilkes-Barre, PA. Durable norament® grano replaced tile in the lobby for a unified look, simplified maintenance and improved acoustics. In its Danville facility, Geisinger replaced a worn lobby carpet with norament® flooring due largely to the underfoot comfort the rubber floor provides to staff and roughly 4,000 outpatients that walk through the lobby on a daily basis.
“The first comment I get from staff members is, ‘This feels really good on my feet.’” Al Neuner, vice president of Geisinger Health Systems.
Additionally, coating-free nora floor coverings eliminate the need for harsh strip and wax chemicals to save custodial staff time and money. Pleased with the ergonomic, acoustic and maintenance benefits encompassed by the flooring, Geisinger continues to turn to nora for projects at the health system’s various facilities.
