A pediatric environment is enhanced with pleasing patterns and simple upkeep of nora flooring.
C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital on the University of Michigan Health System campus is a 1.1-million-square-foot facility nationally recognized for its excellence in clinical services, research and education. Each floor of the new building features a custom design that greets visitors the moment they enter the space, thanks to the eye-catching patterns created with noraplan environcare™.
During the planning stages, the hospital considered several rubber flooring options, with long-term maintenance, resilience, LEED contributions and color options all as considerations. In addition, the environmental services department wanted a no-wax flooring solution in the new facility. The hospital tested nora in their old building. Pleased with the results of the trial run, the hospital chose noraplan environcare for lobbies, corridors and exam rooms in the new facility.
Hospital workers, including the cleaning staff, appreciate the heightened performance of nora in the public areas. Efficiency in caring for the flooring has improved as well. By using the chemical-free nora® pro clean system, the environmental services team has greater flexibility in scheduling routine cleaning, because they no longer need to take the time for or undergo the expense of waxing floors.
Custom designs and dedicated, simplified upkeep bolster the new facility’s ability to keep its clean, attractive appearance as it runs smoothly.
