Reevaluating the emphasis on energy-efficient lab operations.

Over the last 15 years, an emphasis on energy-efficient lab operations has become a major influence in lab design. This influence is derived from by a number of forces: practical considerations surrounding operational costs, policy issues, sustainable development and carbon reduction (just to name a few). A new generation of architects and engineers has emerged to push the standards of lab design toward even higher levels of energy efficiency. And in doing so, they’re showing the scientific community that energy efficiency and safety can coexist. Laboratory Design reports:
